It's Music Wednesday!
We have a little tradition in the MAGFest world where we like to drop a low yield tactical nuke every Wednesday for a few months leading into MAGFest. We pick up that tradition again today in anticipation of MAGFest 13, January 23-26, 2015 in National Harbor, MD. Here's today's announcements, and make sure to check back every Wednesday for more until we have our full 40+ lineup revealed!

Registration and hotel booking open
MAGFest, the Music And Gaming Festival, returns to celebrate its 13th year of hosting the best gaming party in the known universe! Join us January 23-26, 2015 as we once again descend upon the Gaylord National Hotel in National Harbor, MD, and kick off yet another four days of non-stop music, gaming, panels, vendors, and guests.
Calling all classic MAGFest fans!
Do you long for the olden days of MAGFest where we crammed as many nerds as we could into the Hilton Mark Center in Alexandrira, VA? Do you remember the golden times when you couldn't take one step in the hotel without running into someone you knew? Do you yearn for the musical stage where you could reach out and touch the performers? Does it burn when you pee?
The MAGFest Indie Videogame Showcase (or MIVS, for short) is now accepting applications to showcase at MAGFest 13! Are you an indie game developer who's looking to show off your hard work to the whole world? Then apply to MIVS! If you're accepted, you'll receive a free space to show off your game, as well as complimentary MAGFest admission for two of your studio members.
CALLING ALL VIDEO GAME COVER BANDS, CHIPTUNE PERFORMERS, DJS, AND NERDCORE RAPPERS! MAGFest 13 will be returning to National Harbor, MD during January 23-26, 2015, and we're putting together our list of musical acts to consider for the event. We're looking for talent from all over, so if you specialize in one of the above musical genres, or feel you're somehow musically related to geek culture, then head on over to our MAGFest Performer Application page and fill out an app!
MAGFest 13 will return to the Gaylord National Hotel on January 23-26, 2015. If you fail to attend MAGFest 13, you will be subject to immediate de-resolution. That will be all.

This FAQ is for MAGFest 12, which occurred in January 2014. Details may not be applicable for the next upcoming MAGFest
Will passes be sold at the door?
Yes. Full four-day passes will be available for $60, and one day passes will be available for $40 for Friday or Saturday, and $20 for Thursday or Sunday.
Where do I go when I arrive? How do I pick up my pass?
The first step is to go to the registration desk to pick up your pass. The registration desk is open 24 hours a day from Thursday-Sunday, and will also be open Wednesday evening. Use this map to help find your way to registration from any of the three entrances to the hotel. If you pre-registered, simply show photo id such as a driver's license, military id, or student id to the registration staffers. If you do not have photo id, print out the confirmation e-mail you received when you pre-registered.
Where can I pick up swag that I pre-ordered, such as a t-shirt or supporter bundle?
After you've picked up your pass, you can pick up your swag at the MAGFest merch booth. Use this map to help find your way from our registration area to our merch booth.
Where can I view a schedule of events?
There are multiple ways to view our schedule.
Using a desktop web browser: Our online schedule is best viewed on desktop computers.
Using the Guidebook app on a mobile device: Go to the Guidebook website to obtain the app, and then search for the MAGFest 12 guidebook. Alternatively, if you already have the guidebook app installed, or have a QR code reader app, just scan this qr code. Make sure to check for guidebook updates periodically through the weekend, as we may make schedule changes.
Print your own schedule: We have 11x17 formatted print schedule that will be available in our Festival Operations room. Since schedules are posted outside individual rooms, and are also available online, we will only have limited quantities of the printed schedule available. To be safe, please print your own copy of the schedule if you rely on having a hard copy handy.
Do you provide refunds or ticket transfers?
We do not provide refunds, but we do allow you to sell or transfer your ticket to anyone you wish. E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org from the original e-mail address you registered with (or provide the original e-mail) along with your full name, and we will send you a link to transfer your ticket as soon as we can.
Only questions about ticket transfers and ticket confirmations should be e-mailed to the registration desk e-mail address. All other e-mails will be ignored.
