When can people usually start pre-registering for Magfest 2011

I'm going to moving down in the area near where Magfest is held and wanted to know when I could start to preregister.

P.S. Actually, before you answer that I was looking at the volunteer page. What exactly does someone volunteering for consoles need to do?

In past years, people who

In past years, people who worked int he console room have done many different things like Entrance Badge Check, Game/Equpiment check-out, and other stuff like that. Not a whole lot but you do it in shifts unless things are changing next year.

Ooh, that sounds pretty cool.

Ooh, that sounds pretty cool. I may have interest in that then.

Usually you dont wanna staff

Usually you dont wanna staff the first time you goto a con which I may do next year depending on how my first experience with MAGfest goes. Just come as an attendee the this year maybe observe what the staffers do from time to time and see if thats what you wanna do down the road.

last year was my first time

last year was my first time volunteering. i didn't sign up for too much because it was my first year, but i ended up doing more than that just because i had more fun helping out (i'm just strange like that) i plan on doing it again this year :-)

Good idea, wish I had thought

Good idea, wish I had thought of that before I filled out the form for volunteering :P

I may just attend then in that case.

personally

I both enjoy attending and working, because all the other volunteers/staff are just simply fantastic and really make it feel like you aren't working at all during the shifts you choose.
and don't even get me started on the staff food. mmmmm too yummy.
