How is Parking handled?

When we paid for our room is it in the $99 a night price or do we pay separate?

Hey there,

You'll pick up a ticket on the way into the lot, and then you can tell the front desk you want it added to your room charge. I think it's also possible to show the parking attendant your room bill to get the parking discount since you'll be at MAGFest, or maybe it was your room key....

We're actually kind of unsure whether it's going to be 99 or 100 including parking. The online reservation system says 98/night and parking is definitely a buck (per night). This is the way it was supposed to be originally, but a few people have said they paid 99/night instead of 98. In that case, just talk to the hotel (be nice) and they'll probably knock the dollar off your room charges or make your parking free.

about that

i looked on google maps, is there parking deck connected to the hotel?

yeah, there is. I parked in

yeah, there is. I parked in it last year :)

It is still THIRTEEN dollars

It is still THIRTEEN dollars a day for those of us w/out rooms?

Um, is there some reason why my question hasn't been answered? The initial post in this thread implies you'll have a room, and one dollar a day seems too good to be true. I'd like to get some absolute confirmation.

Answer

If you do not have a room or you are an extra car, you have to pay the normal price for parking.

I called and asked.

1 Room - 1 Car according to them.

If you have no room, its $13 a night.

Welcome to DIE!

are there any alternatives to hotel parking?

I know this might be a laughably silly question to ask in the DC area, but is there anywhere other than the $13/day hotel parking where one could park if not staying in the hotel? I'm just curious. Is the hotel anywhere near a metro stop?

The hotel is in sort of a secluded area.

The hotel is not really downtown, so there are no parking garages or lots within a walking distance. But you might be able to find one where you can take a bus or something.

Two years ago I parked across the road in some lot for a building complex for free. Worked out fine for me. then again I wasn't doing overnight or all-day since I live in the area.

If you've got a room...

Do yourself a favor, and follow these helpful tips if you have a room at the MAGFest hotel:

1) When you get to the hotel, and the area at the front door isn't too packed, park your car at the front door, run in, check into your room, and get your room key(s). Those will let you in and out of the parking garage easily.

2) If the front desk area is really crowded, go ahead and pull into the parking garage, and get a ticket. Park, then go check into your room. Get your room key(s), then promptly throw away that ticket. :D
