This year will be my second MAGFest. Last year was awesome, but there was one small aspect where I saw some potential room for improvement.
The concerts were incredible, the music was great, but it can't be helped that many of the people in the audience are geeks, too timid to do much dancing beyond a simple head-bob. (Myself included, of course).
Since some of us may not want to risk consuming the insane amounts of alcohol necessary to overcome this handicap, or would at least like to save it for the 5 AM Rock Band sessions afterwards, I humbly suggest to the MAGFest staff a possible solution to encourage my fellow wallflowers to take a first step towards actually moving their body.
Chair-dancing. Maybe like a row or two hiding in the back or flanking the sides of the concert area.
(...I'm only half kidding...)
It's not that I need
It's not that I need encouragement to dance. It's that, without alcohol, it's downright boring and awkward (the awkwardness comes from the lack of amusement). I have found that it's a lot more fun with alcohol. The exception, of course, is moshing. That's actually more fun sober than drunk!
What we need is Steve Urkel.
What we need is Steve Urkel. Everyone needs to do the URKEL. Get down with your nerd self. So maybe what we need is someone with a video of Steve Urkel dancing, and then people join in. lol.. Hmm..
