Costume Contest date/time?

So two years ago (last time I went), the contest was rather unfortunately for me scheduled in the morning on a day I was working.
I'm pretty interested in wearing a costume and entering the contest, and I'd like to go all out, but obviously I'm not going to do that if I can't get to the contest.
This year work wont be a problem, but as I'm not staying in the hotel (I live in Alexandria), getting there bright and early in full-costume will still kind of be problematic.
So please please please can you have it (if it's not already decided) later on in the day... preferably on Sat or Sun?

Also this thread is so I can find out the time in advance, no matter when it is, since last time I didn't find out until the day before which didn't really give me time to make plans.

the schedule isnt final yet,

the schedule isnt final yet, but we hope to have it posted online before the event, so you can at least have a day or 2 to make plans.

either way, you should be aware that the costume contest isnt taken very seriously at magfest. its mostly an opportunity for people in costumes to make fun of each other. =] its not all bad or anything... theres always a prize, and we welcome good costumes of course, but there is always silliness. be ready to be heckled. =]

If the costume contest is

If the costume contest is scheduled alongside any popular events, it could even be postponed. MAGFest is much more focused on music and gaming than dressing up. People will probably want to get your picture or talk to you while you're walking around the con, which I think is more fun than making a competition out of who has the best outfit.

Let me rephrase. I think

Let me rephrase.
I think maybe my first post misrepresents my attitude. I'm not some hardcore cosplayer or something. I only ever dress up at halloween actually.
I really don't care about contests, but am just saying, I don't really want to bother getting all dressed up and spending money on a costume if I'm just going to be sitting around in a LAN room wearing it and sweating. lol
Costumes are kind of a pain in the ass, although fun, so I'd really only want to wear it the day of the contest to get the most use out of it.
If it's not a big deal then whatever.

I agree with you. I'm

I agree with you. I'm planning to wear my costume the day of the contest. It's closet cosplay, but still why not enter the contest?

I keep trying to tell people

I try to tell them to relax and it will work it self out at Magfest. If you feel like cosplaying then cool people walk around with costumes on at Magfest. If you dont want to dressup that is also up to you. Magfest is way more chill then these posts are making it out to be. If you want a super serious Cosplay event the fact of the matter is Magfest just isnt the serious type of event for that. Magfest is one of a kind it doesnt need to be like other events it has its own thing going. The point is relax it will work it self out.

So, clearly you did not read

So, clearly you did not read my post at all. I don't cosplay and don't give a crap about it. I'm just trying to find out when the dang contest is going to be so I can plan accordingly.
jeeze
