Just curious if anyone attending MAGFest is familiar with or interested in geohashing. It's kind of like geocaching (which is kind of like the MAGFest treasure chests), except instead of trying to find a set point ahead of time, you follow this special algorithm that spits out a new totally random GPS location for your area each day. A quicker way to describe it might be "spontaneous adventure generator."

I was thinking it might be a fun group event to do on the 4th, for anyone who isn't flying out ASAP and was planning to still hang around DC that day. Maybe meet up in the morning to find out the location, (not too early though...) find the geohash point, and then head back to celebrate and have lunch/dinner/drinks (depending on how much we suck at finding it) at the nearest restaurant or bar.

More details later, no use getting all technical about the graticules and shit if no one's interested in the first place. : P
