having the new years party built in, locking out the goldeneyes and most people probably being expected to be at their jobs monday I would say keep the days the same.
I showed up really early and left really late (I spent tuesday night with some of the lead people and I left at 8 pm monday with Brendan). People did bugger off on sunday (I realize they had places to be and what not). From what I saw from magfest I say let people trickle in and trickle out as they do but have it open for who ever wants to and is able to be a diehard. Even if the majority of people have to leave by late afternoon/early night time on sunday those that can stay can chill and hang out with the core staff that is there for the after stuff. I really enjoyed hanging out with the people in charge after most people left. I would highly recommend it to anyone that is able to.
I would most certainly attend Thur-Mon, would love to see this event go on longer and I'd probably be up to volunteer as well if needed. We helped set up halfass LAN tournaments and a few dedicated servers for MF7, planning to do the same albeit a bit more organized for 8. ;)

I completely agree, I'd love to have something to do on new years which isn't go get smashed at a bar. Ring in 2010 with MAGfest!
M7 was my first magfest
