How it works

Never done this before?

If you're looking at all of this and you're a bit intimidated, or you've never been to an event like this before, we can offer you some help.

It's simple:

  1. Make sure to read our MAGFest Code of Conduct. If you're under 18, you're also going to need this Consent Form.
  2. Preregister for MAGFest. You save money and a little time in line. You can get a ticket at the door, as long as we haven't sold out, but there is an extra charge.
  3. Staying at the hotel? If you don't live nearby, you should Get a room. Get your room as soon as possible to make sure you get the discounted rate, but do not make expensive travel arrangements without also pre-registering! Your room reservation is completely separate from MAGfest registration, and we've sold out in the past; we can't guarantee it won't happen again!
  4. Plan your trip to MAGFest wisely. We've got a Directions page that will hopefully assist you, no matter how you plan to get to MAGFest.
  5. We won't send you anything in the mail. So, once it's time to go to MAGFest, just bring some form of picture ID and your paypal receipt with you.
  6. A little checklist for you:
    • Photo ID
    • Paypal receipt (from your email)
    • Eat & drink fluids
    • Bathe
    • Sleep
    • Have fun!

Benefits of preregistering

  • We'll already have your information in our system, instead of you having to give it to us at registration, saving you time and hassle.
  • We have a separate line at the convention for those who have pre-registered, so you can get your ticket quick and get to the fun stuff!
  • You'll save money!
  • In the event that MAGfest sells out, you're guaranteed a spot.
  • All the cool people are doing it (though seriously, you could certainly mention to all your friends that you're going).
  • You can feel good knowing that you've helped improve MAGfest. We don't have any corporate sponsors to cover the costs of putting on the show. All our up-front costs are covered by preregistration money! By registering early, you're helping making the even just that much better!

Once you arrive

If you have a bunch of stuff to unload, feel free to go to the hotel front desk and get your room, first. Then, come to our MAGFest registration desk and we'll identify you, give you a badge to hang around your neck, and hand over a few goodies. Wear your badge everywhere at MAGFest and you'll be able to get into any of the rooms where various things are going on. That's it! Have fun!
