everyone post your ideas for new features of M11.

this is NOT for little stuff like 'we should get more water'. keep that to the feedback panel and other threads.

this thread is for discussing things you and/or your team would like to do at magfest, like run a music composition room, set up a paintball arena, or have a fire juggling contest. (hint: most of those will not be allowed, but dont let that stop you from suggesting them.)

Next year: Pokeball dodgeball. There were like a million squishy pokeballs in merch and NOT ENOUGH OF THEM WERE BEING USED AS PROJECTILES.

I've always thought having a gaming ironman style competition would be cool. Have a handful of games (older ones probably, mabye some newer ones) and people compete to see who is better overall (PAX runs something like this, the Omegathon or something). Or you could have a Nintendo World Championship cart setup (or the rom on multiple computers) and have people compete there too. It could be set up so people could do it whenever (like the challenges) or have a panel or two specifically for it, but then you have limited space and numbers.

Also heard there was some sort of Cosplay costume contest but never saw anything about it till Monday... Not sure if that is something that actually happened or not. I love costumes and wish I had known about it sooner.

Life size maze with trivia and puzzles and live interaction. Have you ever seen The Labyrinth and you get to a point where you have to figure out which way next and they give you a riddle to solve? Maybe it could be that or some sort of on screen or wooden puzzle that needs to be solved to open the door.

Of course there would be routes and easy access and possibly surveillance so that security can get in and out when necessary.

But time through could be kept tracked of for individual competition. Then for hard core competition times kept track of and each go requires a small $5 or less fee that is only collected for charity and trophies or something like it is handed out at the end of the weekend.

This would obviously be a huge task, which is why I will probably not go full blown with it unless there was some interest and/or interest in helping make this happened if it gets approved. This would require building, programming, lots and lots of planning, and quite a bit of acting.

If I sound like my head is completely in the clouds on this one, just tell me...but it was just a strange idea I once had when wondering who would win if Duke Nukem was stuck in a huge test crafted by GLaDOS

A giant game of tag. Zombie tag. There a version done at Intervention I saw that lasted all weekend as a convention wide game. I think it would work for Magfest.

This isn't really so much of a new idea, as it is a question about MAGFest 11.

By the time M11 comes around, I'll be off at college, living on my own. Unfortunately, my birthday is on the 9th, which means I won't be 18 until AFTER M11 (Assuming it's held on the same dates as previous MAGFests). Will I have to bring my parents down from Virginia Beach to wherever M11 is held, or will I be able to get their consent electronically and sign up for M11 via the site?
