Arcade

Remember going to the arcade to play the "newest" games, waiting in line to play the newest cool title that hadn't made it to home systems yet, or the reigning fighting game champ? How about the crazy japanese music games that everyone loves? Even though arcades are (sadly) a dying breed in the real world, you can relive that feeling from when you were younger at MAGFest, where we have recreated the experience. Our arcade area boasts dozens of machines, all set to free play, so once you've got your badge you can rock the arcades all weekend long. Finally, you can beat those super tough games without spending all of your allowance.

Local arcade man Michael "Buffet" Currence brings us older games like Donkey Kong, Mario Bros, Pac-Man, and Nibbler as well as some less old-school titles such as Primal Rage, Mortal Kombat, Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, and King of Fighters. Hailing from NC, Tony Majors and the WeDoCa crew bring us some newer-school SNK and Naomi love, along with a healthy selection of japanese candy cabinets including vertical/CAVE shooters. Our very own LAN guys and staffers Gerg and cmcm will be insurging MAGFest 8 with a healthy selection of music games, bringing DDR, Pump it Up, Keyboard Mania, Drummania, Guitar Freaks (the precursor to Guitar Hero!) and IIDX, along with one of the few Taiko Drum Master arcade cabinets in the US! And yes, the 6-player dual-screen X-Men will return.
